You came to a page called “Clues” expecting me to give you clues?
I did tell you not to believe everything I tell you. And I wasn’t planning on putting any clues here.
But then I wanted to make it fair for everyone.
Some people joined later than others. And some clues have only gone out in my emails.
I’m not handing you a treasure map with a big red X on it. But I do want you to catch up.
So check these clues out:
I was on Kate Delaney’s America Tonight radio show on October 5. You can listen to the replay. My interview is at about the 10 minute mark
Guest Trail Guide Holly Hoffman (You’ve seen her on Survivor) dropped a MONSTER clue. Check out her page here and find the post. Give her a follow. She may have more clues for you later.
Guest Trail Guide Kelly Swanson left you the most hilarious clue you’ll ever find. Check it out here and give her a follow, too
And here are a few other clues I dropped in my newsletters:
From Sept 20
You already know you don’t need to go as far north as Montana.
So today I’ll give you a few things I’m pretty sure you might want to think about:
A state known for gems.
A valley known for treasure.
And a whole lot of territory south of Montana.
From September 25
You noticed the bear behind me in one of my videos. Good.
And it wasn’t just any bear. It was a TEDDY bear.
Some of you took that to Teddy Bear Corner in Wyoming, where there’s even an old story connecting the place to Theodore Roosevelt.
Is the story true? Nobody seems to know for sure.
Which feels rather appropriate for this Hunt.
But I’m going to save you a road trip:
The $2,500 is NOT at Teddy Bear Corner.
That doesn’t mean you got the teddy bear wrong.
Roosevelt left his mark on the West in more than one place.
But is it in Wyoming? That’s the question that should put your lie detection skills to the test.
So don’t throw out the teddy bear.
Sometimes the same clue can point to a more profitable place.
From October 1
Back in the 1800’s two guys were looking at this spectacular piece of land.
One thought it would make a great beer garden. The other said. Nope. It’s fit for the gods.
I think the beer one had potential. But here’s what you hunters will care about.
If you’re looking for treasure, I’d spend some time figuring out exactly where those two guys were standing. Maybe a lot of time.
If you can find it, you’re for sure closer to the treasure than you think.
From October 9
Some of you are looking for a big flashing sign that says, “Congratulations! You’re about to win $2,500!”
Well, I have some disappointing news.
The trail you’re looking for starts at a small, unremarkable sign that’s a little bent.
Nothing fancy. Not that much written on it. Certainly Nothing that screams, “There’s $2,500 around here!”
But find that sign, and you might want to head down the trail.
I just saved you from wandering around reading every sign in the Mountain West.
