Body Language Expert: Bernie Sanders vs Elizabeth Warren. Who’s Lying?
You know I try as hard as I can to stay out of politics. But I just can’t hold back on this one.
So if you’re gonna get upset and think that I’m trying to tell you who to vote for go ahead and delete this now.
If you just want to see some classic signs of deception and learn some cool stuff that you can use in your life to spot the liars, you’re in for a treat.
Deception comes at the intersection of body language, tone and words. Many times words can be a huge indicator of deception in the form of how statements are set up and the qualifiers contained there.
Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have been in a spat about a conversation they had. Did Bernie tell her that a woman couldn’t win the US presidential election?
Let’s watch Bernie’s description of what happened during the democratic debate last week:
Ok so let’s unpack it a little:
This is a potentially very incriminating topic for Bernie. One that could derail him. See that big smile and chuckle just after he’s asked the question? That’s called Duper’s Delight. That’s deeply unconscious and there’s no reason to smile at a question like that.
He does look down as he’s doing it. It’s possible he doesn’t want to see the issue. And when people look down they’re not feeling good about something. Overall there’s not enough with this movement to say it’s specifically a sign of deception.
Then he says ‘well, as a matter of fact I didn’t’ as he nods yes. Truthful people say the minimum they need to say to get to the truth. He’s using lots of words here to get his point across. Top that with the head nod yes and we have lots of hot spots in a tight cluster here.
Then he deflects by saying he doesn’t want to waste time and that Trump and the media want this to happen, making them the villan.
The topper is the classic phrase used by liars ‘Anyone who know me says….’. This amounts to gathering an anonymous crowd of support and is a telltale of deception.
I’m pretty sure they had a conversation around this topic. But notice how he didn’t say what he DID say during their exchange. He’s leaving that out and it could have cleared everything up and even incriminated Warren. Combine that with all the hot spots noted above and it’s pretty easy to come to a conclusion that his pants are on fire.
Politicians lie all the time. Every single one of them. This is just one easy to read, high profile case.
Maybe this incident is material to your decision in your local primary, maybe it’s not. Now you have a little more intel. Just make sure you vote.
